These features make your home safer and easier to live in.

SDA homes can be: Apartments, Villas, Townhouses, Shared homes, Standalone houses. You can choose what suits you best.

Who can get SDA?
You may be able to get SDA if:

You are an NDIS participant, and

You have very high support needs, or
-
You have an extreme functional impairment
This means you:

How to get SDA

Join the NDIS
If you're not in the NDIS yet:

Apply online at ndis.gov.au, or

Call 1800 800 110

Check if you can get SDA
Talk to your:
-
NDIS Planner, or
-
Local Area Coordinator (LAC)
You will need to:
- Share information from your doctor or health professional
- Explain your disability and housing needs

Add SDA to you NDIS Plan
If you're approved, SDA funding will be added to your plan.
SDA funding:
✓ Pays for the Specialist housing
🅇 Does not pay for rent, support workers, or personal care.

Apply for SDA housing
Once you have SDA funding:

Contact SDA providers directly

Fill in their application forms

You may need to send them:
- Your NDIS plan
- Your support needs Information
- Your housing preferences

Search for providers using the NDIS Provider Finder:
Providers might be:
